WHO WE ARE

If you’ve been wondering if there’s a place where people are more important than dogma, where people are warm and welcoming, thoughtful, and gentle, and where grace is a verb, University Heights Baptist Church might just be the place for you.

We are a church that believes worship doesn’t end with a benediction, but spills out into classrooms, neighborhoods, shelters, hospital rooms, dinner tables, and streets, right here in Springfield.

UHBC is a faith community that is going to encourage deep thinking, generous grace and compassion, and encourage everyone, men and women, to lead and to serve.

What to expect

You can expect friendly and authentic people, engaging and relevant music and worship, compelling preaching from the Bible, and an opportunity to encounter God. You can expect to find a place where creativity and fellowship come together to worship God in new and exciting ways. You can expect to be encouraged, challenged, convicted, excited and, most importantly, welcomed. You can expect to encounter gentle, thoughtful, grace.

Learn

LifeGroups are an essential part of our church, as they provide a place where we learn from the Bible and each other, have deeper fellowship, and better support for one another. 

Serve

The mission of UHBC is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to glorify Him through serving the least fortunate in our community and around the world.

Love

Our vision is to be a church of grace-filled people, loving God and loving our neighbors. We show our love by learning more about God and those around us and by serving people in need. 

Worship

We love music. Expect to hear everything from hymns to the most recent contemporary music you hear on the radio. We use music to grow closer to each other and closer to God.

We're located in the heart of Springfield, on the corner of National and Grand across from Missouri State University.
